areas within the Authorities:
Customer Services
These services manage all the telephone and face-to-face contact customers have with the authorities. It is usually the first place a customer calls when they need to communicate with the authorities.
Support Services
- Benefits Service
This service administers the housing benefit and council tax benefit schemes. - Design and Print
Design and Print provides comprehensive design, printing and postal services for the authorities' other service functions, producing distinctive material, often for public distribution. It also carries out work for outside bodies.
- Facilities Management
This service provides administrative support across the authorities. It includes word processing, general administrative support and postal services. - Finance
The Finance service manages the authorities' budgets. It supports the authorities in setting its annual budget and produces financial information to enable managers to manage their service budgets. - Human Resources
Human Resources provides support and guidance for the authorities' managers on most employment related issues, including recruitment, training, development, health and safety and payroll. - ICT (Information and Communications Technology)
This service provides technological support and advice to enable other services to maximise the efficient use of available technology. It manages all computer systems within the authorities.
- Procurement
This service controls and manages how the authorities purchase goods and services to ensure that value for money is achieved in all transactions. - Property
Property Services delivers property management, design, advice and facilities management for the authorities. It manages all authorities' assets as well as the day-to-day management of the authorities' buildings. - Revenues
The revenues function is responsible for collecting council tax and non-domestic rates as well as debt recovery.
